SF6 GIS switchgear
145kV GFM SF6 Gas Insulated Metal-Enclosed Switchgear
The SF6+N2 gas-insulated metal-clad switchgear (GIS) is designed based on SF6 generator circuit breakers (GCB). It includes various components such as the circuit breaker, disconnecting switch, earthing switch, transformers, and surge arresters, all housed in a robust metal enclosure. The SF6+N2 gas mixture provides excellent insulation and arc-extinguishing performance while reducing environmental impact compared to pure SF6. This advanced gas solution ensures compact assembly, high reliability, and protection from external environmental factors. GIS offers safe, low-maintenance operation and occupies only about 10% of the space required by traditional AIS substations. It is widely used in industries such as power grids, petrochemicals, metallurgy, data centers, airports, and subways.

Why GFM Switchgear?

■ Compact design – Three phases encapsulated in an individual compartment
■ Lightweight & durable – All enclosures are made of aluminum alloy, reducing eddy current loss, enhancing rust resistance, and minimizing weight
■ High reliability – The circuit breaker features self-energy dual interrupters and an advanced operating mechanism for superior stability
■ Enhanced safety – Disconnecting switch/earthing switch adopt a three-position combined design, ensuring mechanical interlock to prevent misoperation
■ Factory-tested & ready for installation – GFM units are fully assembled, commissioned, and tested before delivery, reducing on-site time, risk, and cost
■ Easy expansion & maintenance – Expansion coupling between enclosures allows for quick extension or repair, minimizing outage duration
